Criticality and sensitivity analysis of the components of a system

چکیده
In the design of complex systems there is a great interest to know the relative importance of each of their elements. In this paper, we define a new method for measuring the relative importance of each element of the system. We have to specify that this paper concerns only nonrepairable systems and components. We present a way of calculating the criticality of each component for a complex system no matter what the random distribution of the life of the component is. The paper also demonstrates a simple way of calculating how the system life improves when the life of a component is improved. q 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper proposes a method for dose estimation in criticality accidents through hair dosimetry. This method is one of the essential requirements of a comprehensive dosimetry system for responding the criticality accidents. The hair samples were irradiated to different dose levels on a RANDO phantom in a standard Cf-252 field. Post-preparation of the samples were done by solving them in approp...

Background and aims : Technique of Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis, FMECA, is a method for identifying and analyzing all potential failure modes of a system. This technique is used to prevent failures and to reduce their effects on the system . The main goal of this study was identifying and analyzing of the potential failure modes and assessing the effects of failures in the ce...
متن کاملAn Improved Modular Modeling for Analysis of Closed-Cycle Absorption Cooling Systems
A detailed modular modeling of an absorbent cooling system is presented in this paper. The model including the key components is described in terms of design parameters, inputs, control variables, and outputs. The model is used to simulate the operating conditions for estimating the behavior of individual components and system performance, and to conduct a sensitivity analysis based on the give...
متن کاملAdvanced Exergy Evaluation of an Integrated Separation Process with Optimized Refrigeration System
Advanced exergy analysis is a tool to split the exergy destruction of the system to achieve a better perspective about the potentials of a system for improvements. In addition, the component interactions and their exergy destruction dependency with the other equipment are investigated through the advanced exergy analysis. For this purpose, it divides the exergy destruction calculated by convent...

./files/site1/files/0Abstract1.pdfIn this paper we consider a continues Lorenz – type dynamical system. Dynamical behaviors of this system such as computing equilibrium points, different bifurcation curves and computation of normal form coefficient of each bifurcation point analytically and numerically. In particular we derived sufficient conditions for existence of Hopf and Pitchfork bifurcati...
متن کاملDeveloping an economical model for reliability allocation of an electro-optical system by considering reliability improvement difficulty, criticality, and subsystems dependency
The nature of electro-optical equipment in various industries and the pursuit of the goal of reducing costs demand high reliability on the part of electro-optical systems. In this respect, reliability improvement could be addressed through a reliability allocation problem. Subsystem reliability must be increased such that the requirements as well as defined requisite functions are ensured in ac...
